Company Description: The Composite Recycling Technology Center (CRTC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to sustainability and economic development. Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $18 to $23 per hour. We begin all new team members at $18.00 per hour and provide raises based on the acquisition of new skills and productivity. Quarterly incentives can boost wages by up to an additional $3.00 per hour, but these incentives are variable and may or may not be awarded to the team based on business results.

Work Schedule:

· Full-time

· Two options are available:

o 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday (with a 3-day weekend)

o 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Production Technician role at CRTC involves rotating between working with wood products and carbon fiber. Responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading trucks, stacking lumber, processing boards, and moving wood through the production process, including pressing cross-laminated timber panels and constructing tiny homes and housing for the homeless.
  • Cutting, laying up, and processing carbon fiber.
  • Operating various manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborating with team members to identify and resolve issues, and suggesting process improvements.
  • Performing other duties as assigned or required.

Flexibility and adaptability are key in this dynamic role.

Education/Experience:

· Manufacturing experience or experience in running a process and delivering repeatable, high-quality results is desired, but we will train the right person based on their work history.

· High school diploma or GED required. A college degree or technical certificate is valued, but is not required.

Health & Safety:

· The CRTC operates a drug-free environment.

· Candidates must pass a drug screening and background check.

· Safety is paramount; There is zero tolerance for being impaired at work.

· Must champion safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

· This is a physical job that involves handling lumber. You must have the ability to remain on your feet for several hours and lift up to 60 lbs. You will be working indoors but in a more open air environment, so you must be comfortable working in colder environments as our doors are often open during the workday.

Location: CRTC headquarters in Port Angeles, WA.

Background: Approximately 50 million pounds of carbon fiber scrap are deposited into landfills globally each year. The CRTC specializes in repurposing carbon fiber into value-added products including pickleball equipment, orthotic braces, hydrofoils for surfboards, and marine cable for aquaculture. We have expanded our operations to take an undervalued wood species like coastal western hemlock and use it to make a cross laminated timber panel for tiny homes and homeless housing.
