Summary
The Building Custodian will report to the Front Desk manager. The main function of the Building Custodian is to ensure the common and high traffic areas of the corporate office, warehouse areas, and building curb appeal are neat, clean, and in orderly condition.
Essential Duties
- Cleans and maintains common and high traffic areas of the entire facility
- Assists with building and grounds maintenance, particularly as it relates to curb appeal and guest perception
- Sweeps, vacuums and dust mops all assigned areas and rooms
- Removes trash from offices and restrooms throughout the facility
- Wash, scrub and sanitize restrooms including mirrors, wash basins, commodes, etc.; replenish toilet tissue, hand towel and soap dispensers
- Clean and wipe windows and mirrors
- Cleans and sanitizes both sides of doors and handles
- Dusts furniture, walls, window sills and other ledges
- Strips and waxes floors, as well as mops and cleans restrooms and other areas
- Cleans and prepares rooms before meetings and special events, as well as afterwards
- Helps to transport cleaning equipment and supplies; restocks cleaning supplies
- Ensures restrooms and lunch areas are well kept and stocked with cleaning supplies
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning agents and equipment
- Notify supervisor with ample lead time to order supplies before depleted
- Collaborate with contract cleaning services, when needed
- Performs minor building repairs, so as to minimize interruption of company operation
- Empties and cleans lunchroom refrigerator once a week
- Peruse building exterior removing trash, debris and litter from the front lawn and parking lot
- Maintain care on outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances
- Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests, both indoor and outdoor.
- Perform maintenance and minor building repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
- Report major damages and oversee repairs
- Accept and perform other work as assigned
Experience
- 1-3 years prior experience in housekeeping or janitorial
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License is required
- Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier
- OSHA 10, is preferred
