Position Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of operational functions in support of Manufacturing Division.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Quote costs and availability of existing or new products based on information supplied by Sales or Customer Service. Work with Shop Manager to quote accurate lead times.
- Check on–hand materials at issue to maintain appropriate raw material inventory levels as determined by the Shop Manager. Advise material needs and requisition same as approved by Shop Manager
- Generate and maintain On–Order Material Log to track material order by work order and on–order information for expediting purposes. Information to be obtained from JDE.
- Enter new work orders and generate full work order packets to the Manufacturing shop floor for jobs, stock or complete work orders generated by Customer Service during Sales order entry.
- Work with Shop Manager to maintain on–time deliveries and review scheduled orders to issue daily shop schedules, shipping lists to Customer Service and the Warehouse to facilitate allocation and physical shipment of completed parts on a daily basis. (Any special customer instructions must be communicated to involved parties to facilitate adherence to customer requirements.)
- Assign and document new part numbers in logs and forward information to appropriate personnel for new number entry on JDE and entry of stock transfer and sales orders for the newly assigned numbers.
- Enter standard Bill of Materials (BOM’s) on new numbers and update existing BOM’s as required.
- Enter standard routings or update when needed to complete work orders.
- Enter and maintain work orders on Manufacturing Shop Master Job Log for delivery changes per Manufacturing Division procedures
- Generate product labels for Work Order Job folder and act as backup for Manufacturing product packaging and labeling as required.
- Issue raw materials to Work Orders as completed by the shop and make inventory adjustments as required.
- After job completion and costing, generate a Shop Order Cost Summary for comparison to standard and to facilitate adjustment to standards. These are to be reviewed with the Shop Manager.
- Maintain Standard Routings on Manufacturing parts. Revise as needed based on shop floor feedback or machine and procedure changes.
- Maintain Standard Bills of Materials on all Manufacturing products. Update as required.
- Work with the Shop Manager to generate standard run times providing a benchmark to review productivity on a job–by–job basis. Run times not within allowable percentage to standard times are to be reported to Shop Manager for review.
- Must be familiar with shop procedures and take an active role in learning all Manufacturing Shop floor processes and procedures.
- Must learn costing procedures to backup Production Costing and to gain a familiarity with the Production Costing process. Maintain and update all Manufacturing files and logs for drawings and new numbers.
- Update and post work order time for the Manufacturing Division as required by the Shop Manager.
- Maintain Scrap Logs. Reconcile with scrap sales for the Manufacturing raw materials and provide updates to the Shop Manager to determine timeliness of scrap sales.
- Must become proficient in all JDE disciplines related to Manufacturing production, accurate inventory maintenance, raw material requisition and shop floor time reporting.
Certifications/Skills:
- Must be proficient in use of MS Word and Excel, with experience working with a data management system ideal.
- 2 years JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Prefer procurement or industrial–related experience.
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing project coordination.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or up to 5 pounds constantly to move objects.

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
