Title: Business Analyst

Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) to join a collaborative Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team. The BA will support the Provider Reimbursement Claims processing and Member Managed Care areas to enhance and develop projects aligned with Medicaid program objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Medicaid systems, claims processing, and a solid understanding of healthcare operations and the systems development lifecycle. This role requires strong business analysis, documentation, and communication skills to ensure that all project initiatives align with Federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and participate in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with stakeholders.
Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on requirements.
Execute and review test runs, providing sign-off on testing components.
Document and validate business requirements throughout the development and testing phases.
Ensure projects follow MMIS SDLC or Agile methodologies and best practices.
Maintain project plans, traceability, risk/issues lists, and SharePoint documentation.
Coordinate resource allocation across Business Analysis, SQA, and Development teams.
Prepare and distribute weekly project status reports, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Support the development of end-user training materials and documentation.
Oversee the stabilization phase of system releases, ensuring successful implementation.
Collaborate with vendors to define and test business requirements.
Communicate project updates and changes to stakeholders.
Represent MMIS in business meetings as needed.
Provide MMIS support to program staff, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Perform data queries and analysis to support business initiatives.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in business analysis to support all stages of the system project lifecycle.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA claims and payment transaction processing.
SQL proficiency and strong data analysis skills.
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and within project teams.
Highly analytical, with the ability to document findings and recommend solutions.
Experience in Agile and SDLC methodologies is a plus.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, IT, or Healthcare Administration.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a large healthcare setting.
