Location: Cayuga Heart Institute (CHI) Hours: 40 hours per week Days variable 8 - 5 but may vary (5 x 8's preferred would consider 4 x 10's) Cert: RN, BLS License: NYS Tech: EKG Experience; prefer minimum of 2 years Job Description: Cayuga Health and its affiliates are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting the physicians and/or mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care. Responsibilities: * Performs professional nursing care in accordance with NYS Nursing Practice Act * Carries out all assigned nursing procedures while maintaining a calm and profession demeanor during emergent situations * Provides patient education, as requested by the provider * Prepares patient record for visit, including but not limited to chart prep and nurse note documentation * Participates in scheduled team meetings to discuss clinical roles, processes, and patient concerns * Works well with members of the team to achieve patient-centered care and quality by implementing best practice standards Qualifications: * Graduation from accredited RN program * Current NYS licensure as a registered nurse * Basic knowledge of Cardiology diseases and treatment (preferred) * Knowledge of medical insurance carriers and how to obtain prior authorization (preferred) * Knowledge and ability to perform manual blood pressure checks (preferred)
