Job Summary :

Operates GoBus transit vehicle to provide public transportation to passengers to local or distant points throughout Smith County.

Key Responsibilities :

Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Conform with and abide by all company codes, regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Demonstrate values and principles of the Customer Service Creed in all interactions.

Maintain regular attendance .

Required Qualifications :

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of professional driving and customer service experience; experience in public transportation preferred; computer or tablet skills required.
• Equivalent combinations of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
• Licensing Requirements : Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• CDL license preferred but not required. New Texas residents with a valid driver’s license from out of state must obtain a Texas driver’s license within 90 days of hire.
• Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of the geographical region; ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening; ability to pass required annual background screening; knowledge of defensive driving techniques; ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record; ability to read and understand maps and timetables; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; proficiency in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to operate mobile tablets and communicate via email and cell phone.
