Job Summary :
Operates GoBus transit vehicle to provide public transportation to passengers to local or distant points throughout Smith County.
Key Responsibilities :
Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Required Qualifications :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience : Minimum of 2 years of professional driving and customer service experience; experience in public transportation preferred; computer or tablet skills required.
- Equivalent combinations of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
- Licensing Requirements : Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
- CDL license preferred but not required. New Texas residents with a valid driver's license from out of state must obtain a Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.
- Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of the geographical region; ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening; ability to pass required annual background screening; knowledge of defensive driving techniques; ability to maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record; ability to read and understand maps and timetables; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; proficiency in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to operate mobile tablets and communicate via email and cell phone.
