Job Summary :
To design, develop, and maintain software built on the IBMi platform using RPG and SQL languages and procedures. This will include assessing business requirements and translating them into effective designs, producing high-quality, standard-compliant code, and collaborating with developers to ensure coordinated changes and shared knowledge for more effective platform support.
Key Responsibilities :
• Design, develop, and maintain software on the IBMi platform using RPG and SQL languages and procedures.
• Assess business requirements and translate them into effective designs.
• Produce high-quality, standard-compliant code.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure changes are coordinated and knowledge is shared for more effective platform support.
• Comply with development standards, using tools like JIRA for change management and release management procedures.
• Manage deadlines through collaboration with technical and business teams.
• Escalate platform events to management that need further focus or resolution.
Required Qualifications :
• RPG Developer with Health Plan Encounter and 837 expertise.
• Minimum of 5 years in writing ILE RPG and RPG Sequel programs and services, with at least 2 years in Financial applications development.
• Experience in writing applications that use the DB2 400 relational database.
• Genuine passion for technology and problem-solving.
• Good communication skills and the ability to deliver in accordance with deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience in using the Synon code generator tool and Java (desirable but not essential).
Education : Bachelors Degree
