Contract: 9 months (initial)
Pay Rate: $75 - $85 per hour
Location: Wilmington, DE (onsite 4 days per week)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in optimizing performance, automating deployments, and ensuring the security and reliability of containerized applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kubernetes Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters to support scalable, high-performance applications.
- Platform Optimization: Enhance cluster efficiency by implementing best practices for resource allocation, cost control, and performance tuning.
- Automation & CI/CD Integration: Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline deployments and integrate Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. Diagnose and resolve issues affecting Kubernetes clusters, applications, and services.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to security best practices by implementing access controls, network policies, and vulnerability management strategies.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with development and operations teams to support containerized applications, participate in design discussions, and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, processes, and best practices while providing training and guidance to team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes deployment, scaling, and optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Helm), and scripting (Python, Bash, or Go).
- Deep understanding of monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices for Kubernetes, including RBAC, network policies, and container security.
- Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Salary : $75 - $85
