Overview
CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Firewall Network Engineer opening for our client in Richmond, VA.
Location : Richmond, VA
Hybrid schedule for initial onboarding and training (typically around 3 months)- During this 3-month period, the team targets the candidate being onsite 3-4 days a week. After 3 months, the manager will discuss with the candidate for hybrid or remote opportunity afterwards.
On Call Schedule once every 12 weeks.

Duties :
The Senior Firewall Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing firewall policies, based on input from the Information Security Team, acting as a liaison between the Information Security and Networking teams. This role will ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams.
Candidate Must Haves :
Candidate must be a Subject Matter Expert with Firewalls to the ability that they can teach / mentor a junior network engineer
Must be within 1hr driving distance or willing to relocate.
Required Education, Qualifications and Experience :
- Six (6) or more years’ experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls is required, preferably in the healthcare industry. PCNSE certification preferred.
- On hand technical knowledge or networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies
- Experienced with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent demonstrated knowledge is preferred.
- Two (2) or more years of team leadership preferred.
- Proficiency in recording and interpreting TCP / IP packet captures is required.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications
- Skills in automation languages are a plus : python, java, perl, etc

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $126,000 per year. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
