REQUIRED
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English; one (1) year working experience in related field with some schooling and a valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED
Two (2) years experience working with Microsoft NT Server; A Certified preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Assists in the maintenance of computer networks in the District. Installs local area networks, supports computer networks at libraries, and provides troubleshooting skills for all administrative networks at BISD.
Installs, configures and maintains file servers District wide for Administration and instructional sites. Maintains installation of LAN’s for the District. Sets up and installs network hardware and software. Maintains knowledge of current voice and data networking solutions. Supervises and tests Network Cable Installations. Installs and supports print servers, remote printer. Troubleshoots data communication problems when requested by the Data Center. Evaluates areas for cable installation, punches down label and document. Drives personal and district vehicles to and from the worksite; obeys all traffic laws. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending inservices and meetings, as requested/required. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Director.
