We are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety in the Fuquay Varina, NC area . This position will be full-time and on-site.
What You'll Do
- Support and lead the day-to-day EHS operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, and company regulations
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, emphasizing hazard recognition, accident prevention, and safety best practices
- Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Lead or support investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents; perform root cause analyses and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of incidents and ensure timely reporting to regulatory agencies when required
- Collaborate with department heads and employees to foster a culture of continuous improvement regarding safety and environmental compliance
- Monitor environmental metrics, ensuring compliance with environmental permits, waste management practices, and pollution control
- Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, evaluate control measures, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Support emergency response planning, including training and drill execution for employees
- Assist in maintaining emergency equipment and procedures, including fire extinguishers, spill kits, and evacuation plans
What You'll Need
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with hands-on knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively across departments
- Proficiency in EHS software and Microsoft Office applications
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
