Title: Senior IT PMO Consultant
Location: Hybrid (Newark, NJ)
Responsibilities:
- Review the existing IT PMO processes and methodologies.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Ensure that all the IT PMs are following the IT PMO Stage Gate processes.
- Conduct Gate Reviews for all the projects and validate the project deliverables that are required for obtaining Stage Gate approval.
- Develop training material to train PMs on IT PMO Stage Gate processes and conduct periodic training sessions.
- Train the new PMs on the IT PMO Stage Gate processes, tools, and templates.
- Continue to review the existing IT PMO processes and methodologies and propose improvements to streamline the PMO.
- Gather the data outputs from projects and develop reports and forecast about past and future project performance, analyze/manage the data, and find insights that can be used to improve projects and how they function.
- Prepare data and reports for project managers, the PMO team, project stakeholders, and the C-suite, with an understanding of the different needs of each.
- Review and monitor all IT projects performance and perform regular process compliance checks and prepare reports for the same.
- Draft new and improving existing PMO policies and processes as needed.
- Participate in the development and governance of IT EPMO methodology and assets including standardized process, tools and templates.
- Assist in portfolio prioritization and planning including prioritization model and processes for Intake and Demand management.
- Report on project health metrics and facilitate leadership reviews.
- Report on project resource allocations and capacity planning.
- Focus in improving the PMO processes from Cost and Schedule management prospective.
Required Skills:
- 5 years of experience in setting up IT PMO.
- 5 years of experience of designing and implementing IT PMO processes, tools and templates.
- Stage Gate Process experience is preferred
- Experience working in a large-scale IT project management environment
- Experience executing and providing oversight to IT projects/programs across a portfolio
- Knowledge of how to mature a project management capability and successfully drive change
- Expert understanding of the Project, Program and Portfolio Management processes and methodologies
- Proficient with Project Management tool such as Primavera or Smartsheet
- Experience managing project actuals, project reporting and budgeting
- Expert in Excel including creating Pivot table and using advanced formulas such as Vlookup
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
