Concentric Corporation is currently seeking a talented Controller for our client in the Omaha area.
The Controller is responsible for steering the company’s financial direction by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. This role ensures the protection of company assets through a robust internal control environment. Additionally, employees in this position are expected to demonstrate organizational commitment and flexibility by handling tasks outside of their standard responsibilities when necessary.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
This role requires a diverse range of skills to meet the key objectives of the position and support other departments. Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership, Management, Accountability:
- Lead by setting a positive example, embracing the company’s mission, vision, and values.
- Recognize and reward outstanding performance.
- Handle necessary discipline and terminations as required.
- Foster strong relationships based on trust and accountability.
- Consistently deliver on annual objectives.
- Money In & Money Out:
- Manage customer payment processes including invoicing, financing, cash applications, and collections.
- Ensure that the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams follow established processes with proper internal controls in place.
- Plan and forecast cash flows to meet business and board requirements.
- Build strong vendor relationships and ensure accountability from third-party service providers supporting A/R and A/P operations.
- Timely & Accurate Financials:
- Oversee all accounting processes and procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial reporting.
- Execute the monthly close process and provide timely financial reports to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve processes to enhance the customer experience, both internally and externally.
- Present financial statements that are easy to interpret and provide strategic insights, highlighting key areas of interest to inform decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders to educate them on financial performance and assist in driving improvements.
- Internal Controls:
- Maintain proper segregation of duties within the team and across the organization.
- Ensure strong internal controls with financial institutions.
- Document, train, and enforce internal control procedures throughout the company.
- Collaborate with business leaders to explain the importance of controls, address challenges, and work together to mitigate financial risks.
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes annually and on an ongoing basis.
- Provide strategic insights to meet both short-term and long-term financial goals.
- Collaborate with the management team to secure their commitment to budgets and forecasts, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Prepare pro forma financial statements as required.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of financial performance, identifying areas for improvement or opportunity.
