Job Summary

The Project Accountant is responsible for managing expenses, billing, and budget for long term projects. The role demands excellent communication skills, accounting understanding, and a customer-focused approach to problem-solving. This position reports to a manager or director within the accounting organization structure and may have up to 2 direct reports.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and submit detailed and accurate customer invoices.
  • Review of vendor invoices.
  • Ensure revenue recognition policies are adhered to.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate month end accruals (when necessary) as well as tracking balance sheet activity by project as needed.
  • Efficiently research, report, and explain any fiscal project activity, track margins and profitability of jobs.
  • Report profitability by job and prepare customer and management reports as needed.
  • Effectively communicate and work closely with other departments, field personnel and client representatives to adequately compile invoicing information and problem resolution.
  • Work directly with Project Managers to monitor and analyze project financial management through the life cycle of projects.
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Effectively deal with stressful situations, difficult clients, and deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Requirements :

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Accounting.
  • Self-motivated with skills in problem-solving, communication, and time management.
  • Extensive technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Dynamics SL experience a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, with the possibility of several overnight travel requirements.
