Job Summary
The Project Accountant is responsible for managing expenses, billing, and budget for long term projects. The role demands excellent communication skills, accounting understanding, and a customer-focused approach to problem-solving. This position reports to a manager or director within the accounting organization structure and may have up to 2 direct reports.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Prepare and submit detailed and accurate customer invoices.
- Review of vendor invoices.
- Ensure revenue recognition policies are adhered to.
- Prepare detailed and accurate month end accruals (when necessary) as well as tracking balance sheet activity by project as needed.
- Efficiently research, report, and explain any fiscal project activity, track margins and profitability of jobs.
- Report profitability by job and prepare customer and management reports as needed.
- Effectively communicate and work closely with other departments, field personnel and client representatives to adequately compile invoicing information and problem resolution.
- Work directly with Project Managers to monitor and analyze project financial management through the life cycle of projects.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Effectively deal with stressful situations, difficult clients, and deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
