Job Overview
We’re looking for a highly skilled and imaginative Assistant Creative Director to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is an experienced visual storyteller with a strong design and motion background, capable of translating strategy into compelling creative across print, digital, and video platforms. This is a hands-on role with a clear path to Creative Director.
This position requires at least three years of professional experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. A strong design portfolio is required.
We serve mission-driven clients including cities, public health departments, and other public agencies. You’ll help bring their important messages to life through thoughtful, high-quality creative.
Responsibilities
- Support the Creative Director in developing multi-platform campaigns
- Design branded materials such as flyers, reports, signage, and social media graphics
- Lead video editing and motion graphics projects using Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Collaborate with writers, project managers, and marketing team members to deliver effective, visually consistent campaigns
- Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints
- Manage creative assets, templates, and libraries
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and visual trends
- Participate in brainstorming and creative review sessions
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience using:
- Adobe InDesign (print design)
- Illustrator (vector design and logos)
- Photoshop (photo editing and layout)
- Premiere Pro (video editing)
- After Effects (motion graphics and animations)
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital media, or related field
- Portfolio that demonstrates high-level design thinking and execution
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Passion for purpose-driven, community-focused work
- Agency and/or public sector experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Package: $50,000 – $55,000 per year (based on experience)

Schedule:
- Monday–Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Weekend and late nights from time-to-time during a crisis
- Hybrid; in-office located in West Hartford, CT
