Concern Housing is seek a Per Diem Affordable Housing Compliance Assistant to be responsible for performing tasks associated primarily with marketing activities and the LIHTC lottery process.
Position: Per Diem Affordable Housing Compliance Assistant
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Bergen Street)
Schedule: Flexible Schedule; Min. 24 Hours per week
Salary: $25 - $30/hr.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the initial lease up of new properties, including outreaching applicants to request documents, performing a careful review
of all received documents, as well meeting with prospective tenants.
- Reviews files, prepares them for further review by the Director of Affordable Housing Compliance, and meets with applicants, if
needed, to obtain any additional documentation needed.
- Provides assistance to the Affordable Housing Compliance team in managing lottery activities, as needed.
- Possesses knowledge of the Federal Fair Housing Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. - Annual training in these areas is required.
- Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
- Additional tasks as required.
Requirements: Individual in this position should possess strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach. Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position. Preferably certified in Low Income Housing Tax Credit and/or 3 years’ experience in compliance-related work. Good verbal and written communication skills are also required. Experience and/or education in working with people with disabilities is a plus.
