General Description:
The Youth Program Facilitator (Group Supervisor) is responsible for running the daily after school activities for at risk youth populations in the OST (out-of-school time program) program. The program is under contract with the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and Public Health Management Corporation. Because the Youth Program Facilitator works with at-risk youth populations, they carry a high degree of responsibility for the students physical and emotional safety and are therefore expected to serve with the utmost professionalism, care, and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Program Facilitation and Youth Engagement
- Co-Facilitate and/or support life skills activities, arts & recreation activities, and homework assistance with 15 youth on a daily basis.
- Run in-person facilitation 2x a week (or virtual if the school is unable to host us but we cannot close the program situational case).
- Plan workshops and lessons and activities related to them.
- Organize workshops/speakers/special events.
- Organize annual or end of season culminating event.
- Capture pre/post test from youth each season.
2. Youth Attendance & Enrollment Management
- Capture attendance in person daily.
- Monitor attendance daily and follow up with students who missed sessions.
- Ensure all active participants have complete paperwork on file, same for all new enrollments.
- Ongoing recruiting youth to ensure 85% of slots are filled daily (15 slots).
3. Program Operations & Organization
- Keep an organized binder on site of all times with pertinent documentation for operational needs and youth.
- Keep inventory of supplies including snacks/stipends/incentives.
- Ensure that youth receive a snack.
- Plan trips.
4. Partnerships & Community Engagement
- Attend community outreach or engagement events to promote programs.
- Monthly check-in with school liaisons to find out about school events and opportunities to partner/collaborate/be visible.
- Attend partnership meetings as needed.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Responsible for compliance of operational standards as mandated by funders.
- Attend trainings as needed/delegated by agency/funder.
6. Supervision & Team Collaboration
- Weekly/biweekly check-in and/or supervision with direct supervisor.
- Attending internal meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; one year experience working with youth and/or families preferred.
- Knowledge of or interest in positive youth development
- Must be resourceful, willing to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of clients, other professionals and foster parents.
- Must be willing to work with a team and work well and professionally with youth and parents.
- Must understand the importance of confidentiality.
- Ability to pass FBI, Pennsylvania Childline and Criminal Background Checks.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
