What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk/Optometric Technician position at CONCORD EYE CARE CENTER, O.D., P.A.?

We are seeking a team oriented and self motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma-Medical Assistant designation or Optometric certified technician is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Essential Functions:
Perform basic front desk duties, which include answering the phone, in a professional courteous manner while scheduling patients.
Collecting correct patient demographic information, assist with verifying insurance and collect co-pays assisting patients with requests and needs while working together with other team members.
Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the practice manager and doctor.
Technician duties include ocular screening and patient history
Assist in the flow/efficient movement of patients through the sequence and evaluation.
Prepare exam room with proper sterilization, medications, forms consents and educational materials.
Assist the doctor through the patient examination, return patient calls, fax reports, schedule any referral appointments and all other patient communications required for patient care.
Accurately perform: Confrontation fields, Automated keratometry, lensometry, basic pupil evaluation, tonometry, Visual acuity distance and near. Fundus photography, basic refraction.
Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and equipment.
Organizational Functions: Confidentiality, follow all HIPAA/OSHA requirements, participate in all staff and educational meetings and trainings.
Exhibit professional demeanor at all times.
