The Global Income Tracking Department plays an integral role in maximizing revenue collections, while bringing to attention issues regarding the company’s revenue and internal processes that may have a direct impact on revenue collection and income processing.
As the Income Tracking Associate you'll, support the general income tracking team and initiatives, which consist of tracking and ensuring timely and proper collection of revenue for Concord’s publishing repertoire throughout North America. This individual must have a solid base knowledge of music industry practices and revenue streams and will invest themselves in learning and developing an understanding of Concord’s end to end revenue and royalty processes, catalogue delivery processes, revenue collections, financial workflows, royalty cycles and distributions. This position will support a department whose mission is to identify and collect unreported and underreported income streams. Works under moderate supervision.
Responsibilities
The Income Tracking Associate will provide support to the North American Income Tracking team. This individual will maintain regular revenue reports, oversee data management and research initiatives, assist in identifying incorrect revenue reporting and will research and analyze data industry trends.
What you'll do:
- Assist in the discovery and recovery of unpaid or underpaid revenue in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Track and communicate priority works internally to ensure timely registration and royalty collection
- Proactively review and analyze royalty statements from key partners to ensure revenue received is full and proper.
- Create and maintain regular and periodic analyses and reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct ad-hoc internal reviews as needed to support overall revenue recovery efforts
- Field income tracking and revenue analysis related inquiries from other departments
Outline of Specific Functions:
- Maintain and distribute regular reports highlighting usage trends and chart position of notable works, identifying priority registration issues and coordinating efforts to resolve 35%
- Assist with the review of distributions received from key sources with a specific focus on our Classical repertoire 15%
- Assist with desk audits and registration checks on new publishing deals 15%
- Assist with departmental research and ad-hoc analysis projects, including highly confidential projects 10%
- Update and maintain regular departmental tracking reports 10%
- Provide general support to income tracking team members and other departments as needed 10%
- Perform other duties as assigned 5%
Qualifications
What you’ll need :
- Bachelor’s degree in music, business or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of two years related experience
- Outstanding verbal, written communication and organization skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with ability to perform advanced formulas, pivot tables, “if then” statements, data/sorts etc.
- Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, with an ability to manage large workloads, prioritize demands under the pressure of deadlines and show discretion with confidential materials.
- The ability to work with numbers, spot trends and draw meaningful conclusions from data, using analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to problem-solve and find data-based
- Willingness to adapt and acquire new skills as new technologies
- Self-starter work initiative and an ability to work independently and with a
- SQL, ETL, DAX, and Python knowledge a plus
*This job is hybrid- requiring 3 days a week minimum on site.
Position will not start until May 1st, 2025
