We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Business Office. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department by performing a variety of clerical tasks, including processing transactions, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
This exciting on-premises opportunity will assist in essential accounting services and support to Concord University’s Business Office and the Concord University Research and Development Corporation. This position will report to the Controller.
This position will require learning two different accounting systems, with different policies. The successful candidate will have to be a fast-learner and a team-player who can balance multiple time-sensitive activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
Reporting to Concord University’s Manager of Revenue (50%), the successful candidate will:
- Support the Manager of Revenue (25%), including reconciling Follett invoices, printing checks, assisting with check change, and providing back-up support to the Student Accounts Office when needed
- Preparation of revenue related documents such as CR documents, redeposits, and reconciling dailies (25%)

Reporting to Concord University Research and Development Corporation’s Fiscal Officer (40%), the successful candidate will:
- Prepare and maintain billings relating to the Concord University Child Development Center, including but not limited to processing payments and collections (20%)
- Bank Reconciliations of the Research Corporation (10%)
- Scheduling daycare and RDC quarterly board meetings and taking minutes (10%)

Associate's
Required Licenses/Certification
An associate’s degree in accounting or finance or two years’ experience in an office setting with a similar role.
Required Skills
- Highly detail-oriented and organized. Basic Microsoft Excel Skills Basic understanding of revenue accounting principles Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Proficiency in analyzing, reconciling and preparing financial transactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven skills in interacting with the public
- Organizational and time management skills required to manage multiple projects, reports, requests, and workload.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
