Job Summary/Basic Function
Under the direction of the Credit Facilitator, you will plan, teach and assess language classes in the target language. For the summer of 2025, Danish language offerings will be embedded within the Norwegian Village. Danish-speaking staff will be working collaboratively with Norwegian staff in cabins of mixed Danish and Norwegian villagers, at mealtimes, activity times, beach times and other times throughout the day. Danish counseling staff will be responsible for two hours of daily, exclusively Danish instruction for Danish villagers. Further schedules and work details will be discussed in interviews.

You will:
- Maintain accurate grade records, complete mid session progress reports and final evaluations.
- Maintain communication with the Credit Facilitator on the progress of all credit participants in their classes and elective courses.
- Live in a cabin with children (“villagers”), as part of a counseling team, to provide supervision.
- Assist with light cleaning of the Village site (including cabins, bathrooms, activity areas, etc.) with villagers and counseling team to ensure a safe, hygienic space for everyone.
- Lead games, Cabin Council and other activities to create a cabin community.
- Supervise and interact with students during meals.
- Assist with other aspects of Village life, including cultural presentations and activity periods. Complete other tasks as assigned by the dean and leadership staff.

- Conversational and written proficiency in target language
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to model those for younger children
- Demonstrates maturity & good judgment
- Enjoy interacting with and managing children
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to changing situations

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
- Experience teaching the target language and culture
- Hands-on experience working with adolescents aged 14-18
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Concordia Language Villages or camping experience preferred
- Teaching licensure preferred
- Experience as a teacher in the target language at the college or university level
- Skills in teaching the target language and content in the target language
