Position Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to residents as prescribed by the attending physician under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L).
Qualifications:
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum approved by the American Occupational Therapy Associates
Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Two years long term care or rehabilitation experience preferred
CPR certification strongly preferred and encouraged
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists the OTR/L with overseeing all aspects of the resident’s plan of care with respect to OT treatment
2. Contributes to the development and modification of individualized, goal-directed treatment plans in conjunction with the OTR/L
3. Conducts safe and effective resident treatment sessions using the prescribed treatment plan, including resident/family educational programs. Reports resident responses to treatment, changes in care plan needs, and progress toward goals to the OTR/L
4. Contributes to the occupational therapy resident evaluation process by completing structured evaluations as directed by the OTR/L
5. Contributes to the supervision of occupational therapy students, aides, or volunteers as directed by the OTR/L
6. Documents results of assessment, treatment, follow-up, discharge, and billing notes in an accurate, timely manner in accordance with Standards of Practice, state and federal regulations, and policies/procedures
7. Commits to high ethical standards and complies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and Concordia policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee records and information. Has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
