Position Summary
Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) invites applications for a full-time, visiting faculty position in Philosophy in the Department of Humanities and Social Science to begin August 2025. This is a 9-month position from the middle of August to the middle of May. Teaching assignments will primarily include Western Thought and Worldview, a course housed within the University's Core curriculum program. Other courses may be assigned based upon student need and the candidate's qualifications and interests. Concordia University emphasizes classroom teaching and active participation in campus life. This position reports to the Humanities and Social Science Department Chair and is located on the Mequon, WI campus.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach an academically diverse audience in Western Thought and Worldview
- Teach other course(s) in Philosophy based upon student need and appropriate expertise and experience.
- Foster and support a welcoming and encouraging community in the Humanities and Social Science department for students.
- Collaborate with other departmental faculty in program and course development and design.
- Promote the mission of Concordia University to faculty, staff, students, and the community.
- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
For this visiting faculty position, the Area of Specialization (AOS) is open, but ideal candidates should have a strong grounding in the history of philosophy (Ancient, Medieval, or Modern). A Master's degree in Philosophy is required, but a doctorate in Philosophy is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
