Objective
To profitably increase the sales and distribution of Cone Distributing’s Spirits portfolio(s) in the on and off Premise trade targeting accounts by improving the presence and visibility of all portfolio brands by executing point of sale and brand standards. To assist the account management sales team in the proper sales and execution of all spirits products sold by Team Cone and assist in the correct marketing of those products at the retail level:
To learn and maintain Cone Distributing Retail Call Standards. To adhere to quality assurance policies.
Responsibilities/Expectations
- Develop sales plans and execute against them.
- Regularly maintain and communicate key performance indicators to Spirits Manager
- Use sales history data in each account as a selling tool.
- Grow spirits distribution for all of Team Cone’s accounts.
- Maintain regular buying cycles on a per account basis.
- Conduct individual monthly market rides with on premise sales team in the trade with focus on distribution, visibility, and volume. Use PIITCHER process as part of each ride along.
- Facilitate sales training to sales team to ensure proper understanding of current market standards.
- Facilitate staff training to account staff to ensure proper promotion, and sale of spirits.
- Work with all retailers to maximize spirits sales, execution and promotion.
- Ensure all Point of Sale is used in the proper manner and quantity.
- Conduct 1-2-night tours per week to ensure proper sale and execution spirits products.
- Ride with each Sales Rep monthly.
- Actively participate in all MBO, PFP and Incentive programs achieving targeted goals as set forth for all spirits SKUs.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with owners, managers, and employees of Team Cone accounts.
- Be aware of all competitive activity and opportunities to increase sales in accounts.
- Check and note pricing on all competitive products to ensure parity.
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in the business success of every account.
- Maintain open and clear communications with the owners, managers, and other employees of Cone Distributing.
- Maintain open and clear communications with owners, managers, and other employees of all accounts.
- Report to the Spirits Department Manager Sales Manager all new competitive activity in accounts.
- Forward to the Spirits Department Manager immediately all competitive price information.
- At sales meetings, share information with other employees that will benefit the company.
- Prepare weekly monthly and quarterly market recaps
- Communicate to the salesman any new distribution and promotion.
- Properly operate, protect from damage, and return all equipment that has been issued to you (i.e. phones, handhelds, vehicles, etc.)
- Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
- Conduct all your activities in accordance with the local, state and federal spirits regulations.
- Report all accidents and injuries to the Spirits Department Manager
- Perform all work activities in accordance with the safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Manage within all assigned budgets
- Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge of the distilling process, market trends and changes
- Able to receive and maintain state issued “salesperson of wine and spirits” license.
- Must participate, communicate, and interact with Team Members, Vendors and Customers in a manner that will consistently enhance all Team Cone Core Values.
- Able to safely and responsibly offer retailer and consumer sampling of spirits.
- Actively work with account managers and customers to achieve new distribution, menu placement and consistent re-buys of Team Cone’s spirits products.
- Offer on-going feedback regarding spirits department development and growth
Qualifications
Position Requirements
- Able to work autonomously.
- Must be able to travel to and work both the Ocala and Tallahassee markets.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Encompass Technologies.
- Able to speak in front of groups of 10 or more.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Keep your vehicle clean and orderly.
- Dress and maintain your personal appearance in a professional manner and according to company policy.
- Attend all monthly sales plan meetings.
- Follow safety rules and in the use of equipment daily.
- Able to pass drug and background check.
- Maintain a safe driving record.
- Able to responsibly transport and manage spirit samples to be used in the market.
- Report immediately to your Manager of any traffic violations, on or off duty that may affect your insurability.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2-year degree preferred.
- Will consider experience in the field education
