Position Summary
to s responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, including the administration of policies, procedures, and programs. This role encompasses various HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist works closely with management and employees to foster a positive work environment and support the organization's strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate the onboarding process to ensure a smooth integration into the company.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Address employee concerns and grievances, conducting investigations as necessary to resolve issues promptly.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
Performance Management:
- Implementation and support the performance management systems.
- Support managers in conducting performance evaluations and provide guidance on employee development plans.
Payroll & Benefits Administration:
- Manage the attendance line, requests for time off, or a leave of absence. Communicate absences and update timekeeping records.
- Assist in payroll preparation by ensuring timecards are complete
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods and educate employees on available benefits.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in HRIS and common office software applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably as a generalist.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, or training may be considered.
Work Location:
This position will primarily report to our north office, 5251 Shawnee Rd, Sanborn, NY 14132, but will be required to report to the south office 3370 Walden Ave, Depew, NY 14043, on occasion.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
