We are seeking a talented and motivated salesperson to call on customers throughout Maryland and Southern Delaware. The position will be based out of our Columbia, MD branch.
The District Sales Manager (DSM) will identify new partners, generate sales, and maintain relationships with independent tile showrooms, retail flooring stores, and kitchen and bath dealers using merchandise display placement. The DSM will also generate new sales by identifying potential business opportunities through other avenues, such as contractors, remodelers, and builders. The DSM will also service current accounts and maintain the strong relationships that we have built over the years.

Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Conestoga Tile’s services and pricing structure.
- Generate sales in local marketplace by primarily focusing on selling activities to independent tile showrooms, retail flooring stores, and kitchen and bath stores through the use of merchandise display placement.
- Generate sales by identifying potential business opportunities through other participants in the ceramic tile and stone market (i.e. contractors, remodelers and builders)
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. and recommend changes to management if needed.
- Service accounts by:
o proposing, selling, maintaining, and updating merchandise displays o developing pricing strategies o providing product training o sharing technical knowledge o finding solutions to issues by identifying needs and proposing appropriate services and actions
- Acquire new accounts by: o identifying leads o managing prospects o responding to inquiries o researching the marketplace
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
- Develop territory account list prioritized by volume including Key Accounts,
Target Accounts, Maintenance Accounts and Low Potential accounts.
- Execute sales blitzes and product launches.
- Conduct sales performance reviews with store management.
- Regularly meet with Director of Sales and Marketing to review sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
- Maintain a professional rapport with business partners, customers, and consumers.
- Participate in sales and marketing events.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work schedule.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be organized with good time management skills.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
- Proficient in cold calling
- Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies.
- Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
- Must be able to work within a team concept

Qualifications
- College diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing,
- Sales, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success.
- One year of experience in a customer-facing sales role (business to business).
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
