Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Facilities Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will:

  • Provide engineering design, project management, and operational expertise related to the facility infrastructure, utilities, and processes. Projects and Facilities are complex in scale and integrate all areas of engineering, requiring management of outside design professionals, internal technicians and contractors.

What Skills You Need

  • Technical Expertise: 5 or more years in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, industrial, etc.)
  • Project Leadership: Proven experience managing all phases of large construction projects, manufacturing processes, and facility design, including budgeting, contract management, and supply management strategies
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for complex facility and manufacturing equipment
  • Engineering Tools Proficiency: Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools
  • Compliance: Familiarity with building, safety, quality, and environmental laws, regulations, and codes

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Electrical Systems: Expertise in Medium Voltage electrical distribution systems
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with National Electric Code (NEC), Electrical Safe Work Practices, OSHA, and Factory Mutual Global programs
  • Automation & Controls: Proficiency with factory automation and controls systems (BAS, PLC, IoT)
  • HVAC Systems: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Leadership: Experience with supervision, including in a union environment

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent related work experience.
