A growing publicly held eCommerce company has partnered with Conexus to add a Corporate Controller to their team. The company continues its reach strategic initiatives aligned to support this expanding market. Purpose Of Your Position:
The Corporate Controller will report to the CFO and be the driving force behind improving processes and supporting business growth. This person will have ownership over accounting and financial reporting functions. The Controller will play a “hand-on” role with their team while driving both growth and strategic initiatives for the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle accounting functions: general ledger oversight, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash receipts, fixed assets, banking, bank reconciliations, G/L account reconciliations, journal entries, financial review, close schedule, and financial reporting.
- Supervise close and preparation and analysis of monthly financial results ensuring adherence to US GAAP; including but not limited to the G/L, A/P, A/R, payroll, month-end close, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, tax reporting, compliance requirements, and external audit.
- Oversee the financial reporting process and future SEC reporting (10-Q’s, 10-K’s, proxy statements, earnings releases, etc.).
- Prepare all internal and external financial statements including year-end/quarter-close/month-end financial statements, and any ad-hoc analytical requests.
- This is more than a doer as you will be the cornerstone behind our team leadership as you build a high-performing finance team providing guidance & mentorship to maximize growth for your team of 10 .
- Develop and manage a reporting mechanism for key performance indicators (financial and non-financial).
- Conduct operational reviews to ensure effective and efficient spending. Make necessary recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
- Oversee daily banking and cash management activities including bank compliance and reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison to external auditors to schedule, coordinate, and complete the fiscal year-end audit; providing financial statements and supporting documentation required.
- Assess accounting for M&A and other transactions and provide technical accounting memos, as necessary.
- Assess current accounting operations to establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s assets while mitigating risk.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 10 years’ accounting experience
- ERP systems skills and knowledge of NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Sage, or similar cloud based ERPs
- E-commerce industry required
- Public accounting experience ideally with Big 4, but others with public client support could work
- Strong team leadership skills and promoting camaraderie and teamwork with geographically dispersed team members
- Strong understanding and application of GAAP
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
