Job Title: Interim Controller
Location: Santa Monica, CA (On-site 3 days per week)
Duration: 3-6 Months (Potential for Extension)
Overview: Our Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Interim Controller to backfill a recent resignation. This is a great opportunity for a CPA with experience in the consumer products industry and proficiency in NetSuite. The Interim Controller will play a critical role in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger accounting and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
Audit & Compliance:
- Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal controls.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to leadership.
Systems & Process Optimization:
- Leverage NetSuite to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
Requirements:
- CPA designation required.
- 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar leadership role.
- Industry experience in consumer products.
- Proficiency in NetSuite ERP.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
