Senior Accounting Manager

Our San Fernando Valley CPG client with an emphasis on health-oriented products, in partnership with Conexus, seeks a talented Senior Accounting Manager to join their Corporate Finance and Accounting Team. This is an exciting opportunity.

Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager

Location: Woodland Hills, California

Job Status (direct hire, consulting, consulting with possibility of hire) – This role is a direct hire role.

Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) – Our client has a hybrid job site status of one (1) day/week in the office.

Compensation – Salary range is $145,000 to $170,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with periodic bonuses based on company and individual performance. Some benefits include 100% employer paid health insurance, employer matching 401K plan, sick days, and performance bonuses.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Accounting

• Oversee month-end closes of the General Ledger (G/L) in a short period.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Maintain accurate financial records and statements for numerous management company entities.
• Generate financial statements for upper management (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory)

Accounting Operations

• Manage company cash modeling and forecasting.
• Invoice Quarterly/Annual Separately Managed Account client management/performance fee statements.

Financial Reporting

• Generate financial reports for upper management.

Compliance and Controls

• Manage the annual audit process in partnership with external auditors.
• Support executives with all external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and answering all questions.
• Ensure all accounting processes follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Miscellaneous

• Identify and implement process improvements, including any technology advancements.
• Engage in any necessary forecasting and modeling of financial projections as needed.
• Assist in tax filing and tax provisions matters.
• Accept all relevant tasks as given by upper management.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a comparable major.
• CPA
• At least ten (10) years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least three (3) years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Preferred

• Prior work experience at a public accounting firm before transitioning to private industry.
• Prior work experience at a Big 4 or national accounting firm.
• Prior employment at an e-commerce or CPG company.

SKILLS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Required

Technical

• Proficiency in a major ERP System.

Interpersonal

• Self-starter who can take the initiative and work with minimum supervision.
• Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Impeccable communication skills.

Preferred

Technical

• Proficiency with NetSuite.
• Current or prior experience with implementing a major ERP system.
