Our food and beverage client, in partnership with Conexus Recruiting, seeks a talented VP of Accounting to join their Finance and Accounting Team. This role will have direct reports (Controller and will report to the Controller. The role is open because of the growth of our client necessitates a F/T VP level role. This role will report to the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
- Oversee the accounting team to complete the month-end closes of the General Ledger (G/L).
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement reconciliations monthly.
- Accounting Operations
- Supervise the Accounts Payable (A/P) team.
- Approve all chargeback requests.
- Monitor cash flow on a weekly basis.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Forecast short term (monthly/quarterly), annual, and long term (3–5-year look period forward) budgetary projections.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to monitor company financial performance v. projected goals.
- Provide financial analysis to support wholesale, e-commerce, and retail sales channels to support strategic pricing, margin optimization, and growth initiatives.
Financial Reporting
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the CEO and owners of the company.
- Compliance and Controls
- Support executives with all external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and answering all questions.
- Ensure all compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide risk management practices to management to safeguard company assets.
Miscellaneous
- Maintain ERP system.
- Accept all relevant tasks as given by upper management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a comparable major. CPA or MBA.
- At least nine (9) years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory/managerial experience.
- At least three (3) years of work experience at a Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firm.
- Has a mix of public accounting and private industry experience.

- Current or prior experience working at a Consumer Products Goods (CPG) or food and beverage company.
Pay range and compensation package
- Salary range is $190,000 to $230,000/year.
