Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager
Location: near Gardena, CA
Job Status (direct hire, consulting, consulting with possibility of hire) – This role is a direct hire role.
Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) – Our client has a hybrid work schedule of three (3) days/week after an initial training period.
Compensation – Salary range is $130,000 to $160,000/year. Our client offers health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO), amongst other benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Accounting
- Perform month-end closes of the General Ledger (G/L).
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements for numerous management company entities.
- Manage a team of accounting professionals.
Financial Reporting
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to improve financial reporting processes.
- Generate financial statements for upper management with the assistance of the Controller.
Accounting Operations
- Spearhead finance transformation initiatives with each of the divisional accounting teams.
- Conduct technical accounting research (ASC 606, ASC 340-40) as it relates to each of the division businesses.
- Assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) work.
Compliance and Controls
- Support executives with all external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and answering all questions.
- Design and implement accounting process improvements. Ensure all accounting processes follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Miscellaneous
- Mange audit and tax preparation with external firms.
- Work with supply chain, operations, and software development teams to represent the company on all things accounting.
- Accept all relevant tasks as given by upper management.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a comparable major.
- At least seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory/managerial experience.
- Current or prior employment at a manufacturing company.
Preferred
- CPA
- Prior work experience at a public accounting firm before transitioning to private industry.
- Manufacturing Revenue Recognition work (ASC 606)
- Other Assets and Deferred Costs work (ASC 340-40)
- Software implementation experience.
SKILLS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Required
Technical
- Proficiency in NetSuite.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, INDEX, SUMIFs)

- Self-starter who can take the initiative, work with minimum supervision, and take responsibility for your work.
- Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent project management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Impeccable communication skills.
