Data Collector
Behavioral Health
Department of Tribal Health
Hourly Wage: $22.17/Regular/Full-Time
The Data Collector is responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing data for a variety of purposes related to research, business analysis, or fieldwork. This role will involve managing program and project activities, including conducting data collection and data entry tasks for the Áwtni Shix̱witpamá Behavioral Health Department. The Data Collector will handle sensitive client information and must maintain a high standard of confidentiality and data integrity. The role also involves working to enhance the Data Management Infrastructure.
The Data Collector will attend research board meetings, documenting processes, and decisions. They will collaborate with research institutions to design and strengthen the data system infrastructure, making programming changes to improve data collection and access to quality data related to suicide risk, attempts, deaths, and drug overdose indicators. These indicators will be assessed at the individual, clinic, and community level. The Data Collector will assist in developing procedures to provide timely feedback for decision-making within the YN Behavioral Health Services.
Examples of Work Performed:
Data Collection/ Data Gathering:
Collect data from different sources, such as surveys, interviews, databases, and field observations.
Use various tools and technologies (e.g., tablets, software, or mobile apps) to collect and record data.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity during collection, following established procedures and guidelines.
Participant in designing procedures for and overseeing focus groups, survey questionnaires, and clinic data, including troubleshooting data collection problems. Train, and supervise program data collection and provide technical assistance and support for personnel. Represent the study to potential participants, answer questions, and screen for eligibility. Collect, data enter, and track participant data.
Staff Training.
Train other staff in carrying out recruitment, interviewing and data collection activities. Will also train staff in our eCR system and provide technical assistance.
Data Management and Analysis. Assist in data cleaning, management, and analysis. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Prepare basic reports or summaries based on the collected data.
Present findings to leadership, relevant stakeholders or team members.
Data Entry & Organization:
Input collected data into databases or spreadsheets for analysis.
Organize and structure data in a systematic and easily accessible format.
Ensure data is complete, consistent, and properly formatted for use in analysis.
Perform other duties as directed by the Program Director.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have knowledge of Yakama Nation Behavioral Health Services mission, services, and functionality.
Knowledge of HIPAA, 3rd Party Billing, and how it relates to YNBHS.
Highly organized, thorough and detail oriented.
Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work independently and conscientiously.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time in the context of a quality improvement program.

Demonstrated knowledge in data collection methodologies.
Excellent organizational and record keeping skills with at least 2 years managing data for social program.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work, health science, psychology, or an allied social or behavioral science.
Must uphold strict confidentiality.
Two years expertise in excel data management.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Requirements:
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
