POSITION: Community Center Supervisor
SALARY: $26.71-$27.51, per hour DOE
REPORTS TO: Community Center Manager
LOCATION: Keller, WA
Basic Functions: This is a Exempt position. The Community Center Supervisor will be responsible for the effective- management and providing a safe environment for the community to gather. The Center Supervisor is responsible for community relations, the management, scheduling and operation:- and maintenance of the Community Center and Longhouse. Plans. directs. collaborates and coordinates community events; which include funerals, Sports tournaments, holiday events, youth programs. second harvest and tribal gatherings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- The position typically requires an Associates' degree plus five years' related work experience.
- Requires a favorable supervisory experience and work history demonstrated by positive reference checks with direct supervisor in past position
- Requires a valid driver's license and eligibility for the Tribes vehicle insurance.
- Requires first aid card and maintains throughout duration of employment or ability to obtain one within 3 months of employment.
- Requires clear and extensive Criminal History Background Clearance with favorable adjudication, revealing no pending charges and no misdemeanor or felony convictions associated with crimes of any classification against individuals classified as 'protected' and defined as part of the vulnerable( Elderly, Children, Diabled, Etc.) as defined by Tribal Federal and State Comprehensive of justice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- The position requires specialized professional knowledge in the theory, principles, practices and techniques of organization design and development, public administration. public financing, financial management and long-range planning as they apply to recreation and community services and programs.
- Requires working knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques involved in the construction. maintenance and operation facilities.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to recreation operations.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of the theory. principles. practices and modem trends in the fields of recreation, leisure and community services programs.
- Requires basic knowledge of the full range of functions performed by the Tribe, including general management, financial, and policy issues.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of research and analysis methods.
- Requires sufficient math skills to perform statistical and financial analysis.
- Requires sufficient knowledge of personal computer operations to direct to access and apply common desktop productivity software and administrative databases.
- Requires knowledge of community demographic and environmental issues influencing programs and strategic direction.
- Requires knowledge of the methods and techniques used in citizen involvement and external communications.
- Requires advanced knowledge and skill in the English language to prepare and deliver professional and influential written correspondence and reports.
- Requires well-developed human relation skill to deliver talks to large and diverse audiences, present ideas clearly, resolve conflict, manage and review performance.
- Requires project management skills.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Requires excellent analytic/critical thinking skills. Requires knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

- Requires knowledge of standard playground, sports equipment, and janitorial supplies.
- Requires understanding the needs of the communities and knowledge and sensitivity to cultural identity.
- Requires the ability to plan. direct, and integrate the sub-functions within the department.
- Requires the ability to identify and solve problems in an efficient and effective manner.
- Requires the ability to develop and administer business plans and budgets.
- Requires the ability to maintain and prepare reports. Requires the ability to direct and perform difficult research and analysis.
- Requires the ability to understand, interpret, explain and apply all policies, laws, regulations codes and ordinances applicable to the Center.
- Requires the ability to use sound judgement when making decisions interpretations and in communications with others.

- Requires the ability to visit remote sites and to work extended hours for the purpose of conducting meetings.

- Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to move lo various work locations.
- Requires manual hand-eye-arm coordination to use a personal computer keyboard and instructional media equipment.
- Requires the ability to lift objects of medium wt:ight (50 pounds or less) on an occasional basis
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
