Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Care
- Fundamental procedures including sterilizing equipment and instruments, practicing standard precautions, wrapping items for autoclaving, etc.
- Clinical procedures including performing aseptic procedures, preparing and assisting in sterile procedures, taking vital signs, preparing patients for examination
- Observing and reporting patients’ signs and symptoms.
- Patient care including telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information, obtaining vital signs, obtaining and recording patient history, preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas, preparing for and assisting patients for routine and specialty examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Maintaining medication and immunization records and screening and following up on test results as directed by a health care practitioner.
- Maintain and restock appropriate levels of exam and procedure room stock supplies.
- Ensure proper and accurate documentation in patient medical chart.
- Work as a team member with clinical and non-clinical staff.
Knowledge and Skills
- Must be able to exercise and use good judgment.
- Excellent phone skills that include professionalism, courtesy and accurate message taking.
- Above average computer skills and the ability to read and write professionally.
- Ability to operate medical equipment, general office equipment, and computers.
Education and Experience
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (LRCHC may assist with this requirement)
- CPR and First Aid certification – within 90 days.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Working Conditions
LRCHC has ADA compliant facilities. The position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time. May require lifting of 15 – 50 lbs. Must be proficient with computers and willing to learn new software applications. May be required to drive to other clinic (Keller) on occasion.
