Primary duties ore using power tools to remove juniper and brush, and will be required to fight fire under stressful conditions with hand and power tools from 8-76 hours. Other wildland fire related duties might involve fire prevention, patrol, detection, or prescribed burning. The incumbent will also be involved with the maintenance and repair of firefighting tools, equipment, and facilities, and will receive firefighting training. Other duties ore directly connected with the control and extinguishment of fires and / or monitoring and using firefighter apparatus and equipment.
Requirements
The duties of this positions are rigorous that employment is limited to physically vigorous individuals who meet established physical requirements Required to pass medical exam and arduous fitness test. Must have a telephone or reliable message phone, and be available and on call 24 hours a day during the fire season. Posses a valid Oregon drivers license and be insurable through CTWS. Will be required to submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement and a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.
