A $5 billion-plus Credit Specialty/High Yield and Loan-Only investment manager based in New York City. We currently employ over 40 people with a strong, performance-driven, entrepreneurial culture.
Position Overview:
The firm seeks to hire a Head of Investor Relations (IR) professional, with the primary objective of managing a team of 5 plus investor relations personnel. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated history of successfully leading an investor relations team, exceptional client engagement skills, a strategic approach to cross-selling, and strong technical expertise in relevant products. Additionally, the candidate should have extensive experience managing separate accounts, including institutional private/public pensions, insurance companies, and/or private wealth as well as overseeing allocations within defined contribution and retirement plans.
Responsibilities:
The primary objective, among others, is to retain and grow assets while expanding relationships by:
- Overseeing a team of IR professionals responsible for maintaining comprehensive account coverage throughout the life cycle of the client
- Ensuring the seamless execution of the three core investor relations functions: client deliverables, client account management, and product management across the firm’s various strategies
- Proactively develop opportunities to retain, and cross sell the firms’ solutions
- Oversee and/or participate in portfolio reviews with/without portfolio managers across the firms’ solutions
- Manage internal and external information flow consistently between the firm and its clients at all levels. Participate in client quarterly and annual updates. Coordinate product presentations/marketing materials, communications, performance, and ad-hoc discussions
- Manage and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and questionnaires while ensuring the CRM system is accurately maintained and well-organized
- Develop and maintain strong, transparent, and proactive communication with current and prospective clients
- Establish institutional best practices, and monitor best practices for KPI’s
- Develop and execute comprehensive product business plans across the firms’ solutions to drive growth
- Collaborate with the team to identify and develop leads and business opportunities
- Coordinate all efforts with Executive Management including but not limited to other members of the investor relations and investment teams
- Adhere to firms’ guidelines, handbook, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute investor relations strategies supporting business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Ensure all activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards, and uphold the firm’s commitment to transparency and integrity in all interactions
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of investment management, credit-oriented asset classes, high yield/leveraged loans
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of effectively managing teams and collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced, competitive work environment
- Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze data, and develop actionable insights to drive business performance
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders
- Open to travel as required for the role
- A strong academic record from a top-tier undergraduate or graduate institution, preferably with a concentration in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- MBA and/or a CFA preferred
Salary : $150,000 - $225,000
