We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations. This role requires a leader who can drive continuous improvement, enhance safety, and meet performance targets while maintaining high standards in quality, profitability, inventory control, and on-time delivery. The position reports to the Operations Manager at the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily production activities, ensuring raw material inventory is maintained for fabrication processes.
- Lead and support the team in creating and reviewing fabrication drawings, machining operations, and new project cost estimations.
- Ensure all welding activities meet regulatory and safety standards, with proper documentation and certification management.
- Distribute tasks to qualified welders, monitor their performance, and maintain records for continuous qualifications.
- Review and approve new fabrication designs, generate programs for machine operations, and oversee fixture designs.
- Track production schedules, enforce quality standards, and communicate job expectations clearly.
- Lead initiatives to improve labor efficiency, on-time delivery, workplace safety, and quality outcomes.
- Maintain a safe work environment, supporting the development of employee growth and safety culture.
- Participate in training programs, safety assessments, and audits, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure effective communication through reports, meetings, and safety alerts.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in welding or related industries, with supervisory experience.
- Certifications: Current Welding Certifications, AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required; Certified Welding Engineer (CWENG) preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Alternatively, equivalent work and leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
- Skills: Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD and a solid understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and Lean methodologies.
