About the Role :
The Vice President of Finance is a key leadership role responsible for the overall financial health and strategic financial direction of the organization. This individual will develop and execute the company's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with its overall strategic plan. The VP of Finance will lead the finance and accounting teams, providing oversight and guidance while fostering a high-performing environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proven track record of success in financial management within the homebuilding and asset management industries.
Responsibilities :
- Strategic Financial Leadership : Develop and implement the organization's strategic financial plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth initiatives. Provide financial guidance and support to the executive team and board of directors.
- Financial Planning & Analysis : Oversee the development and management of the annual budget, financial forecasts, operating plans, and financial models. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to drive informed decision-making. Lead the development of financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, brand expansion, organic market growth, and new revenue streams.
- Team Leadership & Development : Lead, manage, and mentor the accounting and finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance : Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors, banks, investors, and rating agencies. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations. Manage the annual audit process.
- Cash Management : Develop and maintain a comprehensive cash flow management strategy and template. Oversee cash flow forecasting and ensure adequate liquidity.
- Business Partnership : Serve as a strategic business partner to functional leadership, providing financial insights and support for key initiatives. Collaborate with department heads to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
- Relationship Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, asset management companies, homebuilders, and other key stakeholders.
- Risk Management : Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the organization's financial stability and sustainability. Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
- Process Improvement : Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Prioritize and implement process improvement opportunities.
- Communication & Presentation : Effectively communicate financial information to various audiences, including the board of directors, executive team, and other stakeholders. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and reports.
- Other Duties : As assigned.
