Purchasing Manager - Onsite in Park City, Utah

Reports To: Controller

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team at a Luxury Design and Hospitality firm. The Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of high-quality materials, products, and services that align with our brand's standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization, while maintaining the luxury quality and exclusivity that our brand is known for.

This person should be a strategic thought partner, as they will be growing the purchasing arm of the business alongside the Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure a steady supply of premium products and materials in alignment with brand objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with high-end suppliers and vendors to ensure product quality, exclusivity, and on-time delivery.
• Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers while maintaining the luxury quality and craftsmanship of all materials and finished products.
• Research market trends, pricing, and innovations to continuously improve sourcing strategies.

Vendor Relationship Management:

• Cultivate long-term, productive relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring collaboration on product development and timely delivery.
• Manage vendor performance, including quality control, lead times, and adherence to contracts, while maintaining the highest standards of service.

Inventory Management & Cost Control:

• Oversee inventory management, ensuring an optimal balance of stock to support production needs while minimizing excess.
• Continuously assess and improve cost-efficiency without compromising the quality or exclusivity of products.
• Track market conditions and global supply chain dynamics to adjust purchasing strategies and prevent supply disruptions.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

• Work closely with design, production, and operations teams to ensure procurement strategies align with product timelines, brand aesthetics, and production schedules.
• Provide insights and recommendations for new product lines or materials based on market research and supplier capabilities.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement and oversee strict quality control measures to ensure that all purchased materials and goods meet the brand's high standards.
• Address any quality issues with vendors swiftly and effectively, ensuring that all corrective actions are taken.

Reporting & Compliance:

• Monitor and report on key purchasing metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and order lead times.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as legal and ethical standards in the procurement process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced certifications or an MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the luxury goods, fashion, or high-end consumer products industry.
• Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing.
• In-depth knowledge of luxury brand standards and materials, with a keen eye for quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex, high-value purchasing decisions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
