The Director, Human Resources is responsible for the day-to-day HR operations at local site as well as partnering with and providing HR oversight and support for the GM’s and employees across the four companies and seven locations. Day to day responsibilities will include: partnering with site HR coordinators (where existing) to drive solutions, working with employees, and ensuring up-to-date people administration for payroll and benefits. You will also lead and participate in driving culture, performance and learning at the organizational and local levels.
This position is a hands-on role with the opportunity to influence leadership and drive results at the highest levels across each company within the group.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the key driver of talent acquisition, partnering with managers to attract, interview, hire, and successfully onboard top-level talent in a hyper-competitive marketplace.
- Manage all HR functions including payroll processing and leave administration.
- Administer employee benefits including open enrollment, annual audits, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA compliance.
- Provide strategic support and guidance, and develop people strategies that drive business results
- Monitor performance appraisals and provide coaching, counseling and guidance to managers for talent and performance management needs, including developing current employees and addressing under-performing employees
- Lead employee relations issues and investigations locally.
- Design and maintain an effective employee engagement strategy to motivate the workforce, reward performance and retain workers.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Plan and execute company and employee events, celebrations and service opportunities.
- Partner with senior leaders in resolving employee concerns and escalated employee issues, determining and implementing appropriate action and making employment decisions
- Continuously evaluate people-related processes and identify, recommend and implement appropriate improvements and efficiencies
- Serve as point of contact for employees and managers seeking advice
- Travel to each location required ~10-20%

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but can be substituted with demonstrated experience.
- HR certificate preferred (SPHR/SHRM-CP)
- 10 years of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition experience
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
- Manufacturing environment preferred.
