We are a rapidly growing organization in the Paramus, NJ area. We are seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and reconciliation of the bi-weekly payroll processing and administration.
Job Responsibilities:
Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, & federal legislation affecting payroll
Updates payroll records and records/tracks payroll changes as needed
Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle
Understands and follows applicable provisions for a compliant payroll
Coordinates payroll processing with HR/Benefits team
Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting
Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly
Tracks and records updates to payroll records to ensure the correct outcome of the bi-weekly payroll process
Prepares payroll related reports
Adheres to the attendance policy
Performs other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5 years of Payroll processing (multi-state) experience
Strong experience using Paycor/ADP/Paychex or other well-known payroll systems
Microsoft Office 365 Suite- plus
Strong working knowledge of Payroll principles, practices, and procedures
Good communication skills both written and oral
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
