Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide care to patients of all ages. Duties
- Provides evidence-based, episodic care to patients based on current guidelines – independently and in collaboration with other medical providers
- Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).
- Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical examinations.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
- Partners with patients to determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary.
- Safely prescribes and/or dispenses medications.
- Documents medical information of patients and reviews patients' histories at each visit.
- Evaluates response to treatments and medications.
- Consults, collaborates, and refers with other health care providers when appropriate.
- Counsels' patients and performs patient education.
- Performs minor procedures, i.e., laceration repair, incision and drainage, minor foreign body removal, etc.
- Actively maintains knowledge of current medical research and trends.
- Provides administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory tests, results, and prescription clarifications when needed.Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
- Utilize software for electronic health records management and patient documentation.
- Requirements
- Current state licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Current BLS
- Current certification with the NRCME to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) exams (preferred)
- Five years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Clinical experience in an emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
