Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator will manage and maintain IT infrastructure, ensure system security, and support technology needs specific to the construction industry. This role involves overseeing systems that support management, compliance, finance, human resources, and on-site operations.
This high-profile position will be working with business leaders from many functions with the mission to build superior affordable properties to revitalize and strengthen communities.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and hardware used in construction project offices and sites.
- Setting up new user accounts and workstations for employees.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive project data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Monitor utilization of server files to ensure compliance with file management protocols.
- Research and oversee security systems in the field.
- Manage construction-specific software (e.g., project management tools, Procore, Premier) and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure regular backups of critical project data and develop disaster recovery plans.
- Provide technical assistance at construction sites for hardware setup (e.g., printers, routers) and connectivity issues.
- Work with technology vendors to procure and maintain equipment tailored for construction environments.
- Maintain website using WordPress for updates to apexbuilds.com.
- Respond to, at times, non-core responsibility tasks assigned to help fulfill an operational need of the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a systems administrator or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Premier, AutoCAD, Bluebeam) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of network systems, cloud platforms, Office 365/SharePoint, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in dynamic environments.
- Minimum travel to sites
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with mobile device management for on-site teams.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing security camera systems, low voltage wiring, and control systems.
- Knowledge of compliance standards in the construction industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic scripting or automation skills for system efficiency.
Working Conditions:
- You will be based in the corporate headquarters in Yonkers, New York with some limited travel to the project worksites.
