As a Grounds Maintenance Associate , you will be essential in maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces. Reporting to the Property Manager, your role involves landscape maintenance, irrigation management, and groundskeeping. You will utilize your core skills in communication and mechanical knowledge to effectively manage tasks and collaborate with team members. Your expertise in lawn care and the use of hand tools will ensure that all areas are well-kept and visually appealing, contributing to the overall success of our organization’s property management efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting with various tasks related to garden and grounds maintenance.
- Perform general landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and weeding, and maintenance of garden beds.
- Assist with tree care pruning and trimming of shrubs.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate and maintain landscape equipment and tools.
- Always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist with groundskeeping duties, including litter removal and debris cleanup.
- Some building cleaning and maintenance.
- Any reasonable tasks directed by the property manager.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
Skills:
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain landscape equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of plant care and irrigation systems is a plus.
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Must have transportation to and from location in Syracuse area.
- Consistent and dependable attendance
