What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant/Bookkeeper position at Confidential?
You will execute and manage all financial tasks associated with the business’s operation and will be an integral part of a growing biotechnology team.
What you'll do in this role
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Prepare schedules and reconciliations as required.
- Perform other accounting duties include procuring, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.
- Process payroll for a small team of FTEs, and contractors/consultants.
- Manage/process state and use tax.
- Prepare financial statements, analyses, and reports.
- Prepare revenue projections and expenditure forecasting.
- Manage inventory and implement system to calculate cost of goods sold.
- Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.
- Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Assist with annual audit and tax return preparations.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Other administrative tasks as necessary from time to time.
What you bring to the table
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
· 3 years of accounting experience required.
· Hands on experience on QuickBooks Online required.
· CPA preferred.
· Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.
· Payroll processing experience.
· Strong financial analysis skills.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work with little to no supervision.
