We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Coordinate recreational therapy sessions that encourage participation from all residents, including those with disabilities.
- Facilitate social work initiatives aimed at addressing aging issues and providing counseling to residents and their families.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for individuals with varying abilities and needs.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather feedback on activities.
- Assist in training staff members on best practices for engaging residents in recreational activities.
- Monitor resident participation levels and adjust programs as necessary to maintain high engagement.
- Maintain records of activities and resident participation for reporting purposes.
Experience
- Previous experience in home community care, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities is preferred.
- Background in recreational therapy or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and providing dementia care is a plus.
- A background in social work or counseling related to aging issues will be beneficial.
