What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Lead Facilitator position at Confidential?
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a difference.
We operates a therapeutic after school and summer program that helps to provide a safe and structured environment for kids who struggle emotionally and/or behaviorally. Our goal is to engage children in activities that promote social, emotional and intellectual learning through our Extended Day Treatment Program while also providing Clinical support.
Full-time Treatment Worker Monday through Friday.
This position has two different schedules, a school year schedule and a summer schedule. Candidates need to be able to work both schedules.
The schedules are as follows:
School Year Schedule:
Monday through Thursday: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Friday: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (virtual)
Summer Schedule:
Monday through Thursday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (virtual)
After School Program Lead Facilitator monitors and provides care for children participating in the therapeutic after school program and are responsible for the children’s health and safety. Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain the safety of children at all times by providing supervision and utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques to address individual needs and ensure a secure environment
- Maintain a safe, clean and dignified milieu environment.
- Serve as a healthy role model.
- Safely transport children to and from the program daily, ensuring a secure and smooth journey in compliance with all safety regulations.
- De-escalate emotional and behavioral issues using therapeutic interventions and medication skills.
- Manage and support the implementation of behavior modification strategies, including the use of physical intervention techniques when necessary, to promote positive changes in child behavior.
- Demonstrate techniques that enhance problem solving abilities and enable growth and maturity.
- Accurately record and document critical information on a daily basis, ensuring timely and detailed entries.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians, colleagues, and external professionals, ensuring timely and accurate information sharing.
- Conduct oneself in a professional, courteous manner in all job-related interactions.
- Interact with children in a positive, nurturing, therapeutic manner.
- Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of the children, while maintaining the smooth and effective operation of the program.
- Coordinate the transportation of clients
- Act as site maintenance liaison, reporting any issues to the appropriate party.
- Close building at the end of shift.
- complete additional administrative tasks as assigned by Program Director/Coordinator.
Qualifications and Skills
· Must have knowledge, skills, ability and the desire to work with children struggling with behavioral and/or emotional needs
- Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations, i.e. must be able to supervise groups of children’s and perform physical intervention if required; must be able to move freely from place to place without restriction.
· Valid CT Drivers License
· Must have or be willing to obtain V-endorsement
· Available to fulfill the work schedule as outlined in position posting
· Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
· Minimum of one (1) year experience working with similar population highly preferred
