Director of Finance
A large and growing mission driven organization in Central Pennsylvania is in search of an experienced Director of Finance to provide leadership and direction to the organization’s finance function. This is a new position and will play a critical role in shaping the future of the organization.
The Director of Finance will oversee all financial activities and operations in order to ensure a complete understanding of the organization’s financial standing. The role is instrumental in developing the finance department infrastructure, including financial policies, procedures, and technologies.
Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Develop an organization-wide financial strategy.
· Lead a multi-year financial planning process.
· Orchestrate the annual operating budget.
· Manage the finance department’s team.
· Oversee the agency’s accounting software.
· Coordinate with CEO on grant, contract, and project budgets.
· Prepare monthly financial close and internal financial reports.
· Direct agency’s annual audit process.
· Maintain relationships with external vendors.
What we are looking for:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
· 7-10 years of relevant combined education and experience in the nonprofit sector, i.e., finance and accounting.
· Ability to lead and develop the finance team.
· Strong communication and relationship building skills.
· Ability to relay complex financial information to ‘non-industry’ team members.
· Knowledge of financial accounting and general ledger software.
· Experience creating usable budgets.
· Experience with payroll processing and software.
